Ohxala Records was established in Porto in 2019 and has since found its home in the Serra da Arada foothills of São Pedro do Sul, in the Centro region of Portugal. What started as a platform for releasing electronic music became something larger: a creative house where sound, culture and education converge.
The name Ohxala carries the Portuguese spirit of longing and hope — a forward-looking word rooted in deep tradition. That tension between the ancestral and the contemporary defines everything we do: the music we release, the artists we support, and the way we teach production.
We make music that moves between worlds. House, Techno, Organic House and Downtempo built from the same instinct — finding the groove where the global and the local meet.
